It is important to note that there are SIX levels of progression with each level increasing the hourly rate on offer as you progress.

About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing demand, we are now looking for a full-time Shift Electrician to join our manufacturing facility in Bundaberg, QLD.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of facility equipment and machinery used in the production of plasterboard. 

Working on a shift roster, you will join a small team responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of the manufacturing facility.

Some of your key duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Undertaking general repairs and providing electrical assistance to production;
  • Completing a range of maintenance and routine inspection tasks;
  • Maintaining up-to-date equipment knowledge to provide timely solutions to problems (fault finding etc.);
  • Participating in continuous improvements and problem-solving initiatives;
  • Ensuring and maintaining compliance with safe work procedures; and
  • Maintaining flexibility to complete a varied range of facility duties as required.

Who is Etex looking for?

To be considered for this role, you must be a trade qualified electrician with demonstrable post apprenticeship experience, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment as part of a continuous shift roster. Previous experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), will be an advantage and highly regarded.

As an experienced electrician, you will understand the importance of maintaining a high quality of work, and will be proactive in both developing effective relationships with production team members and undertaking repairs/identifying faults to facility machinery and equipment.

You welcome flexibility and variety in your work, completing a range of other duties not strictly limited to electrical work in order to ensure the safe and continuous operation of the facility.

As this is a fast paced manufacturing environment, your strong attention to detail and ability to operate at a productive pace for extended periods of time will go a long way to ensuring your success.

Although not required, a forklift licence is highly regarded.
