Questions

Teammate Story - Michael Simpson

When Australia suffered devastating bushfires I wondered what I could do to help, apart from donating money. I decided to put my knowledge of fire sciences to practical use and join the local NSW Rural Fire Service as a volunteer.

Having previously served in the Australian Army, I have always had a passion for giving back and being part of something larger than oneself. None of this would be possible without the support of my country manager Rennie Colston, as the brigade relies on companies supplying volunteers when required.

He said I had the full support of the company as and when required to put my newly acquired skills to use. Volunteering for a community organisation has brought a sense of pride and fulfilment that not many other pursuits do.
