Etex Australia manufactures Siniat products in three plasterboard manufacturing facilities: Matraville (NSW), Altona (VIC), Bundaberg (QLD), and a metal roll forming production facility in Beenleigh (QLD) where this role is based, as well as many smaller, crucial facilities.

Your new opportunity

Etex Australia now has a rare opportunity for a Structural Engineering Design Manager to take on a rewarding full-time role in Beenleigh, QLD or Matraville, NSW.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for leading the structural engineering team to deliver design services on Siniat branded cold formed steel products. This leadership role will also guide and support the engineering team, so they reach their potential.

As this role blends two key areas of responsibility, you will be required to manage your time and focus based on the demands presented on an ongoing basis.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Build Relationships: Work closely with the state based Field Structural Engineering team as well as clients, architects, designers and Siniat distribution stores;
  • Support: Provide technical support and design services for Etex's range of Siniat branded steel & plasterboard products and systems; and
  • Lead: Mentor all state-based Field Structural Engineers so they are able to fulfill their duties. This will include training, monitoring competency, and assisting the Regional Sales Managers in the recruitment process.

Who is Etex looking for?

To be successful in this position you will have a degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia and have or are willing to obtain CPEng status. You will also require prior experience in a relevant role with demonstrated leadership capability.

It is crucial that the successful candidate is personable and has outstanding interpersonal communication skills, allowing you to effectively communicate and build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders including builders and clients. You will also have well-developed analytical skills, ensuring you understand technical issues and have the ability to offer solutions where appropriate.

You will preferably have sound knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, ThinWall, ColdSteel and other Structural Analysis software in addition to the Microsoft Suite. Additional advantages would include history with Australian Standards such as the AS/NZS 1170 series and AS/NZS 4600 Cold Formed Steel Structures.

Most importantly, you will be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management and presentation skills. You will also have a "team-first" attitude and a clear focus on customer service.

Please note: This role will require a current Australian Drivers License.
