The Etex Group is a multinational supplier of plasterboard, metal and associated products, with over 14,500 teammates across 43 countries and 113 production sites operating since 1905. Etex Australia manufactures Siniat products in three plasterboard manufacturing facilities: Matraville (NSW), Altona (VIC), Bundaberg (QLD), and a metal roll forming production facility in Beenleigh (QLD) where this role is based, as well as many smaller, crucial facilities.

With sustainability as our compass and collaboration as our engine, we will continue pursuing client success in unity; providing inspiring partnerships. The pandemic did not deter us from stepping up our commitment to safety, people well-being and sustainability.

Due to ongoing demand, we are now looking for full-time Maintenance Electricians to join our manufacturing facility in Bundaberg, QLD.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of facility equipment and machinery used in the production of plasterboard. This role allows you to be flexible with your time. Our shift arrangements will allow you to maximise your earnings or have a healthy work/life balance.

CORE DUTIES:

  • Undertaking general repairs and providing electrical assistance to production;
  • Completing a range of maintenance and routine inspection tasks;
  • Maintaining up-to-date equipment knowledge to provide timely solutions to problems (fault finding etc.);
  • Participating in continuous improvements and problem-solving initiatives;
  • Ensuring and maintaining compliance with safe work procedures; and
  • Maintaining flexibility to complete a varied range of facility duties as required.

You will join a small team responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of the manufacturing facility.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

To thrive in this role, you will be a trade qualified electrician with demonstrable post apprenticeship experience, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment as part of a continuous shift roster. Previous experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is also required.

As an experienced electrician, you will understand the importance of maintaining a high quality of work and being proactive in developing effective relationships with production team members while undertaking repairs/identifying faults to facility machinery and equipment.

You welcome flexibility and variety in your work, completing a range of other duties not strictly limited to electrical work to ensure the safe and continuous operation of the facility.

As this is a fast-paced manufacturing environment, your strong attention to detail and ability to operate at a productive pace for extended periods will go a long way to ensuring your success.

Although not required, a forklift licence is highly regarded.
